I assumed that was what you’d want for hunting. I apologize.Looks like they are all second focal plane
Amen I’m in same boat with a vortex viper wouldn’t hold zero sent in for repair it came back in worse condition than originally went to them I say no more vortex anything wish I’d investigated before the purchase I put a couple pennies with ursMy 2 cents.....Stay away from Vortex.
My buddy is on his 3rd ( returned) in 6 months.
His 2nd and 3rd in the last month.
Your buddy must have some terrible luck. I have 10 of them and I’ve filed 3 warranty claims in the last eight years. Two were on the same scope and it was replaced with a more expensive model. The other was just a power adjustment ring that became stiff after not using it for a few years. I probably could have thrown a lever on it and lived with it, but since they handle claims so well I went ahead and had it repaired. My 2 cents.....Stay away from Vortex.

He does have other Vortex scopes that work fine.Your buddy must have some terrible luck. I have 10 of them and I’ve filed 3 warranty claims in the last eight years. Not even close, BurrisLooking for opinions Burris vs Athlon for a hunting rifle.
5x25x50 range of scope magnification and objective diameter.
Both price points are similar ($800 - $900 range)
Is one any better than the other or is it a toss up ?
Any other brand close to these for the price ?
Thanks for your opinions
Edited: first focal plane
Actuall it's for both paper punching and occasional hunting. It was the sole purpose of buying a variable with that range.I assumed that was what you’d want for hunting. I apologize.
I like the fine cross-hair with a target dot.Which reticle you like better? Lots to choose from in that price range.
AND, a good TASCO WORLD CLASS will serve you well and when you buy one you'll be left with some bucks in your pocket~!Trijicon has several options with great glass within your price range.
Agree to some degree. Owned a 2-7 power Burris at one time and was quite satisfied. It was mounted on a Nikko Golden Eagle which I should have never sold~!My 2¢, Everybody and their brother is now in the scope or rifle action business. Have to ask yourself, are they going to be around in five years for that lifetime warranty? Back to the OP's question, Burris.
And twice the weight lol they are heavyAnd for the extra 400 you get more than twice the scope
