Humid. but we didn't melt

No closed season on grey squirrel where you are? Huh, guess you learn something every day.
 
I don't know where the OP is from, but in Missouri, squirrel season opens on the 4th Saturday in May. Fox or Gray squirrel makes no difference. Stays open until February.
Too many squirrels and too few small game hunters to make an impact.
 
I usually don't hunt them until late October myself, but largely because I prefer to use a .22LR and the leaves have thinned by then. Not to mention that I despise chiggers. :mad:
 
Nice old guy Bob from next door gave me a chigger solution.
Get store brand isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Wet a wash cloth real well with it. Wipe down all over head to toe with the alcohol. Everywhere. I was afraid it might cause burning of sensative areas but had no problems.
Hands and knees deep in brush to pick berries for hours, no chiggers, none. Only thing that ever kept them off me. YMMV
