HS Precision Detachable magazine

I bought one last year for a .223 I had built around a 700 action. I was annoyed when it arrived 'cause it was the .308 sized magazine with a filler block in it to shorten it up for the .223. I wouldn't buy another one for that case size, but I might for a .308 case size.
If I remember right, they are somewhat larger than a Remington floorplate so the inlet has to be opened up a bit. You might also have to adjust the depth of the inlet to get the magazine positioned in the right place so that the bolt picks up the base of the cartridge without hitting the back of the magazine.
Overall, the one I bought seems well made and the fit of the magazine into the floorplate is decent, but I'd trade it for a Sako or Anschutz magazine anyday.,Hmm, I wonder what it would take to fit a Sako 75 floorplate/magazine to a 700 style action?) I haven't used mine as a repeater much, but they are reputed to feed very reliably.

I have one on my Rem 22-250 and it fit nice into my stock but the clip was a little tight going in and out so I had to lightly sand the inside of the floorplate...I also have one of HS's 2000 Series Rifles with the clip which performs great...I think you will be pleased!!
Gents, there are more options for us than just the HS : Badger makes one unit and if you go to <www.wyattsoutdoors.com> you will see that they make magazine boxes that may be ordered longer than stock factory lengths. The come with followers of the right length and can give us up to 0.110" longer cartridges
