.223 Rem nothing special about the rifle other then the trigger is about 3lbs of pull... Breaks pretty cleanly nothing to right home about... Mostly I've just practiced alot with it... 3,500 rnds down the bore and I learned how get to the point I want it. My setup is totally sucky... It is a either fulky rifle or I'm just so used to the way it shoots that I know how to compensate for the Tasco-Trash Optics and black hills ammo.

I've never owned or fired a Howa but its been suggested to me by a couple of reputable gunsmiths here in Aus that the actions form a good basis for building a custom rifle on, having a reputation for being pretty straight and somewhat better consistency than the latest crops of Rem700 actions. I don't mean to create an unholy shitstorm by saying that out loud, dear Remington users. I own a custom REM700 myself.
The barrel, chambering job and inherent accuracy of the chosen calibre, not to mention the ammo quality are likely to make a much bigger difference in the rifle's success from a purely techical perspective - if you take out the other measly factors such as...for example, say, the shooter and the environment.
Whereabouts in Aus are you Matt? Drop me a pm or an e-mail if you want to touch base.
