Howa Longer Magazines

I have a Howa APC Chassis in a 6.5 Creedmoor and would like a longer magazine to increase my C.O.A.L. Does anyone know if there is a longer magazine available for the APC Chassis?
Thanks

There ain't according to my Howa group. It's a proprietary mag. Interestingly though, you can swap out the bottom metal for an AICS compatible bottom metal and then you have access to capacity extenders for AICS mags. I got good bottom metal from PTG but pretty much all of them are the same.

My chassis was custom made to take standard 1500 bottom metal. Here it is with a double stack single feed AICS 10rd mag.

Thanks for your reply, good looking rifle!
I just tried a magpul mag and it didn't work so kinda figured it was proprietary. My wife just bought one and we ran some test loads through it yesterday however, this thing shoots so well there's no point chasing the lands with a longer mag if I've gotta go thru the bottom metal route. She shot 2 groups yesterday one was 5/16" and the other was 3/8" @100.
Sure appreciate your input
Thanks

That factory howa throat isn't going to probably be chase-able inside a 2.825" COAL. Their factory throats are kinda (well... super) long. Have to be to make sure that they can eat any factory load you can stuff in it, even those with heavy round nose bullet profiles which require football field length throats. If you find down the road 500-1000 rounds that it won't group anymore you can have the barrel set back and rechambered with a reamer meant to give .010 jumps at 2.8" COAL. Then you'll be able to shoot that bad boy for another good long time (~.120") while being able to actually chase the throat and not grow longer than the mag.

Interesting concerning the long throat.
Makes me wonder about the Howa Carbon 6.5 PRC, it is based on their long action. If they chamber it "long" that one could be a hot rod!

I suspect it has a long throat but I also suspect that trying to approach the lands would quickly run you out of bullet shank. I'm a member of the load 'em long and add more powder club. I just don't know if a factory barrel is going to deliver for that out of the box. I do know that most gunsmiths hate doing howa barrel jobs if only because the tenon threads are metric.

Yep, something to consider if you plan on other barrels although I understand that someone makes "Remage"/Savage type barrel nut setups for the Howa/Vanguard now.
If I get the Carbon 6.5 PRC it will not be a "volume" rifle as I have a 308 and CM for that.
I just don't know if their Carbon Tube is a good one.
