Howa 1500 mini action trigger upgrade

Does anyone know for certain if the Timney trigger for Howa will work with the mini action? I talked with Timney and the customer service lady said no. But I got the impression she was just reading from some literature that doesn't mention the mini action, so she deduced. However, I read two different reviews where people said they are running it in a mini action.

I don't want to purchase based on what these guys say in a review, so hoping someone has first hand experience.

I just picked this gun up from a shooting buddy for cheap and I like it so far overall, but I hate this HACT trigger...it has to go. My fallback will be the Jard trigger if I can confirm the Timney doesn't work.

Not sure on that one. I’ve tried Timneys for regular Howa 1500s and they don’t work so they must modify it although I couldn’t tell if they did. Looks like a new Timney but the trigger housing is slightly smaller. I wouldn’t think Timney would make the trigger just for them so I’m not quite sure what the deal is. It works though.

Buddy modified mine. It is better but what I consider a good big game trigger.
There is a fair bit of info on the Mini on the 65grendel board.

Thanks, it sounds like the Timney is not a simple drop-in. I'm leaning towards going with the Jard trigger, I just don't have any experience with Jard, so I'm a little "trigger shy" on getting it.

JARD makes a good one that can be from very light to hunting heavy depending upon which of the 3 available springs is installed. Give them a call, they are very helpful.
