How to ID Rem. 40x trigger?

I have a 40x trigger for sale in the classifieds. Can anyone tell me how to tell if this trigger is a 2 ounce or a 20 ounce model? Internet searching is proving unreliable. Time to call in the experts. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked pull weight? I dont think you have the 2oz model. PM dans40x on here he knows which is which

The OEM Rem 40X single shot 2oz/3 lever trigger group will NOT have provisions for a safety or bolt release since the safety/bolt release pivot pin hole is enlarged to a witness hole.
The 2oz trigger group sideplate/housing will have an extra witness hole towards the top aft end & will have a visible 2 legged torsion spring that catches both sideplates of the trigger group to tension the middle lever.

Another version of the 2oz/3 lever trigger group is the adjustable shoe(fwd/aft) International Trigger group of which Rem Custom Shop & RWHart manufactured.

The 40X Repeater trigger group is identical to a standard pre 2006 700 trigger group with the adjustment screw modification located fwd of the trigger shoe/lever & between the bolt release tab.
The 40X Repeater trigger group pull weight screw is pointed & pushes on the aft end of a ball bearing.
The fwd/lower(pull weight) screw hole is staked to prevent the ball bearing from falling out.
DO NOT tighten the pull weight screw as it is topped out inside the #6 hole & will peen the tip rendering it useless.
