Could anyone tell me if I can buy a bench rest trigger either a jewel or other brand for a Savage model 10 6br thank you in advance bill

I would contact JARD and see what they can do for you.
Trigger Tech was working on one for Savage, I have not heard anything lately.

As far as RB triggers go, I have had a couple and no more for me.

So far, nothing.....I have run through every trigger including
Jard and Rifle basic and neither surpassed the Red blade Accu-
trigger. Although Timney only gets you to a lb and a half, It
broke as clean as the 10 ounce triggers. Maybe down the road
Trigger Tech will come up with something but until then, all 3
of my PTA's have the red blade triggers in them, and I'm done
playing around with the after markets and sold them all off.
I am a competitive shooter favoring heavy rifles from 17 to 25
lbs. A Savage trigger in these weights do not hinder me.

I had a standard accutrigger on one rifle that continuously went into safe mode if you even thought about running the bolt hard. Changed it to a red blade and the problem got better, but the break was inconsistent. I changed to a Jard and have been quite pleased. Breaks clean and very consistent. I’m assembling a target action now and am going with a Sav 2, mainly because that’s what northland had when I ordered the barrel. If I don’t like it I’ll go back to the Jard.

I came to the conclusion if it doesn’t replace ALL of the trigger it’s a waste of time and $.
I can deal with the factory accu trigger. Taking the blade out is ridiculous to me, I have and do switch springs, the blade still works and does its job if need be.
There is “another” out there similar to the Jewel, but I won’t mention the name so as to not rile the natives. I know where a Savage Jewel is sitting in a box in a drawer of a Savage hater, have tried to buy it numerous times.

My gunsmith installed a Timney and reduced the pull to 6 ounces

That is why I went with the Jard last time. The action was used and I thought maybe the guy had filed or polished the sear. The Jard is the only savage trigger I know that supplies their own sear. I hope the Sav2 works out.

The Sav II will go down to 4oz. Back when it was first introduced, I installed one on one of my rifles and wrote an article about the project that was published in Precision Shooting, . As far as I know it is still the lightest trigger that is available for the Savage rifles. Back then, I was the one who gave the original owner the idea of producing a video on how to install the trigger. At the time it was published as either a CD or DVD.

Thank you guys for all the information I guess I'll have to see if I can find the gunsmith to work my trigger it was greatly appreciated thank you again bill

There was mention of a Jewel awhile back for the Savage. From
my information, it was not a drop in. There was actual machining
of the receiver in the project.

Fred Moreo made a decent trigger set up, but is no longer available.

I have three model 12 target actions. Two SavBasic 2 and one red blade. There is nothing that drops in.

A buddy pointed me to a simple modification that cured that problem for me. My model 12 would do that with no rhyme or reason. Very aggravating.

Just glue a small piece of thin leather on the action where the root of the bolt handle can contact it. I used a piece probably 1/16" thick and 1/4" x 1/3" and the problem went away. You don't want it to be so thick that the action doesn't close all the way. I think it just minimizes the shock when closing the bolt.

Interestingly another friend has a Savage action with a plastic piece in that area. It came that way from the factory. Seems they are aware of the issue.

I think Fred at SSS still offers the high end model which requires sending him the action for truing and fitting, which will take a lonnnng time.
