How to get into competition with Aerospikes?

Is that you volunteering?
I sent you a PM willing to do some testing. You told me you had enough volunteers to test for you.

Thank you for the kind offer but I have reached the limit of testers that I can support at this time. Perhaps in the future if sales continue to grow I can support more.

I've tried rather unsuccessfully. No one want to risk the time and effort with an unknown bullet.
Quite the contrary…..I begged you to send me some bullets to compete with and I’d collect the data for you. You repeatedly told me you were not going to give away the bullets, even if you got some great data in return. Ultimately, I had to BUY the bullets from your site, and another user also was kind enough to purchase some bullets and mail them to me. I’m in no rush to test these bullets as both my girlfriend and I are preparing to compete in Nationals in August. I plan to test these bullets after Nationals.
Dr. John, for you to say that you tried to get a competition shooter to shoot your new bullets and “no one wanted to risk the time and effort with an unknown bullet”, just simply isn’t true. I hate to call you out, but on a form like this, but a person is only as good as his word, and I feel you are losing a ton of credibility by stating untruths like you did above.
Lastly, I will ask ANY member on this forum to identify themselves as a competitive shooter that was contacted directly by Dr. John to shoot his new bullet design? And I’ll be counting the total number that were offered any free bullets to test in exchange for data. My bet is you didn’t ask a single shooter to shoot your bullets, and that rather, each and every person contacted YOU, offering to shoot your bullets up against a known good bullet……and that you turned down each and every one of those offers.
Dr. John, when someone (especially, a competitive F class shooter, and mechanical engineer with over 30+ years of experience designing experiments) offers to test your product; I’d think you’d be a tad more appreciative.
I wish you the best if you decide to compete in F class, and I implore you let the entire site know when and where it will be held, because I certainly know many would love to see it live.
Best regards and stay tuned in late August for test results on your bullets. Unfortunately, based on the limited number of bullets I purchased and received, I will not be conducting any long range testing. However, the bullets will have to group exceptionally well at 100/200 yards, otherwise any improvements in external ballistics will be completely meaningless.

For live fire I'm doing bullet characterization and short range accuracy (100 yards). Bullet characterization is using a short range doppler radar to measure the drag coefficient. I load up about 100 at a time and vary the powder to get the desired Mach number. Accuracy is just 5 shot groups at 100 yards.

I don't do the long range accuracy testing that is popular on this site. I don't have the equipment or facilities for it.
Any pictures of these 5 shot groups???

Dave is one of the best shooters out there to offer his services to you, free of charge. Does not get any better than this!
Dr. John, being an engineer, deeply immersed in your work, obviously, your personally is not conducive to running a business where you have to interact with the general public on a daily basis. You do not have social skills, even remotely, to make this work from a business standpoint. Period. Save your money and time, until you can hire a spokesman to promote your product and be the face of the company. Not meant to be malishas or mean spirited in any way, just my take on how I see this panning out purely from a business standpoint. Good luck.

I might take a look if there were several different lengths in 7mm
to try different twists. Your missing the boat on 7mm.
Not to mention that unless he is going after the ELR audience, solid copper bullets are way too light for benchrest and most F class shooters using 6/6.5/7mm bullets. Perhaps this new bullet design would be a good fit for the military’s 50 cal turned solid rounds. I happen to be personal friends with the owner of a local Metro Detroit precision machining house that has the government contract to turn over 75% of the solid 50 cal rounds. This is likely where the market is for this type of technology, not is the small arms rounds that require lead slugs with copper jackets to give them the weight needed to cut through the wind.

as a measure of the accuracy needed to compete in short range group benchrest, you might be interested in the following records. These are five shot groups with in the various classes. All were shot in registered competition with a moving backer to ensure there were five shots in the group. Most were whot with 6mm. The light varmint 100 yard which was shot with a .30 caliber. As you can see, the accuracy requirements are quite high.

With all the degrees he claims to have he somehow has managed to avoid getting one in common sense. From his very first post I had the feeling he was talking down to everyone on this site. Like Paul (boltfluter) said, he just does not have the personality to pull off this venture. I really think everyone should just stop replying to his posts and maybe that will put an end to all of this.

100 % exactly what I said earlier in the thread.

I'm sorry that my "claimed" degrees hurt your delicate sensibilities. Maybe you should start a petition to get me kicked off the forum for discussing my research into external ballistics? OR maybe you should stop being an ignorant simpleton and kindly ignore my posts if they hurt your feelings?

It has been my life's work to develop aerospike bullet theory and I have reached a point where I need others to begin shooting them to find any issues that I have missed. If you want to be a part of this then feel free to join in. If not then kindly piss off.

Maybe not the message but the messenger that's the hold up?
Absolutely! Eventually I'll have an attractive sales staff to sweet talk y'all into buying the bullets. For now all I have is years of research to make up for my lack of personality.

It is working though. I'm getting the word out. I just received my first lot of testing results. As soon as I get permission from the shooter I'll post them.

Research how to get a personality everyone doesn't find offensive and then come back to us.
Thing is just about every member of this forum has a drawer full of "perfect" solutions to making us great shooters and competitors. Some worked and some didn't but it isn't a problem for any of us because we bought them to help out a fellow shooter. Yup, someone who was "one of us" and had the same passion for shooting and reloading as most of us do. But, even though many of those gadgets failed, we still appreciate the efforts and still hang out with their creator every chance we get.
But you, sir, are about to be my very first "Ignore" on this forum.
Adios!

Success! You've finally been enough of an ass to get me to hit ignore. I wish you all the success you actually deserve... Bye

You sir, are going to get pissed off when you get pissed on! Customers are valued not expected!

This is the kind of thing that has gotten you nowhere on this site. You should go back to school and learn how to treat people and how to begin a business. You have a hell of a lot to learn.
