How to free stuck round?

I agree you can hit smokeless powder with a sledge hammer and it won't go off. Why do people comment about things they know nothing about?

If all it took to detonate powder was compression you would think reloading would not exist as a hobby based on darwanism alone. We'd all be dead from seating that hunting bullet on a full case of whatever overstuffed magnum elk rifle load we think we need for hunting 80 pound white tail in the swamps of the south.

NEVER, I SAY NEVER try to dislodge a loaded round by pushing it out with a cleaning rod or any other rod of any kind. People have died doing this. Pushes the bullet back in the case compressing the powder and BOOM. Randy

NEVER, I SAY NEVER try to impress people by posting a warning on a subject that you know less than nothing about.

Compressing powder does nothing... never has, never will.

Ergo, no one had died from it.

This excerpt is from a post from current IBS President Jeff Stover some years back on BRC where he related the following while discussing the proposed "bolts out rule" : "Shooters wife held the butt end of the rifle when the shooter tried to dislodge a loaded round that would not chamber. He rammed a cleaning rod down which pushed the bullet into the case which somehow caused the cartridge to fire. The bolt was out of the rifle and the case went backward into the poor lady."
I recall Jim Borden related this incident on other posts.
