How southern folk store their powder?

I suppose it's pertinent to ask, which does one consider more detrimental to powder shelf life?

Heat or humidity?

I've taken rifles from my storage space to the shooting bench and they immediately became covered in condensation.

That can't be good, either.

And I'm not technically in the South. Stick a push-pin in a US map as close to center as you can find. You'll be REALLY close.

We get below zero and above 100° temps every year.
Relative humidity from high teens to upper 90s.

You can get a 4 pk of hygrometers off Amazon for around $10.
Vv recommends their power be stored/used between 55-65% RH.
Most central ac units will keep your house in this range irregardless of what it is outside. If anything, it gets a little low inside in the winter. I try to only open powder when it's pretty close to 55% in the loading room.

In the summer, my basement gets very humid. I run a large dehumidifier 24/7 to keep the moisture at bay. The unit is self-pumping through a 1/4" hose and never needs to be emptied. If the house got too humid, I'd do the same thing there, but the AC seems to take care of everything.

Heat isn't so much powders enemy as humidity. Room temp heat can vary from 50 degrees to over 100 degrees. I will say that coming from a state that puts 6 inches of salt down for a 2 inch snowfall heat accelerates chemical reaction. If over 75 degrees we make sure all salt is washed out before it corrodes our cars out. So, if stored hot powder would seem to be susceptible to it. But, due to powder coatings now it is less so. I do advise to store in cool areas and especially, dry ones. The modern containers are more or less humidity proof. So, put in what you are going to use and seal the container back up as soon as possible.
