True, but some of the money comes from the points the team’s acquire from each race where only the cars from first through tenth get a point. Each point is worth $ 2 million dollars, which accumulate, and at the end of the race season, that money is given back to those team’s that acquired points from the whole season. That is part of the reason that some of the team’s such as Mercedes, and Red Bull, have been the front runners for a number of years now. They have been getting the lions share. Ferrari, McLaren, and Williams get extra money for being legacy team’s, but F1 under their new ownership and rules will have an imposed cap on spending come the 2022 season. Along with a whole new specifications for the cars, and a new wheel size should hopefully even out the team’s. Also. The team’s spend a lot of their own money. Yes some comes from sponsors, but some of that comes from the team’s pockets.
