Ask the seller to bring it down to the FFL holder that will be doing the shipping and talk directly with the guy in the shop, a non bias partisan. If the seller won't do that, then you know something is up. We've done this in the past at our shop.

Maybe, maybe not so good...been there, done that. You don't think he's going to take it to someone other than his buddy, especially if there is some issue do you??? Most guys are very honest, but there's always that one and it seems like he is the clown with whatever it is that you have been looking a long time for and really want to own the most. I mean yeah, you can "request" a non bias partisan and am certain the seller will tell you he is....that don't mean that is where he will take it though and how would you know until it's too late. You have to remember what the words "too late" mean...it means he's got your money. Whether or not he will honor any "deal" or agreement made ahead of time is another story.

I was new not long ago, i remember how it was and yes I have sent a couple thousand dollars to somebody I have never met. One with zero FB but only after speaking to him on the phone, several times, along with pics of reciepts. All turned out well. Met some great friends along the way and learned a TON about this sport.
