How many hunters do we have here?

dogs, cats

That's just what the ANTI's need to read. If you don't think they check this site out and every other outdoor related site your nuts.

You need to check where he lives - feral dogs and cats are a real REAL problem there.

They are a pretty bad problem here in the states too.

I don't think he's talking about shooting some kids pet - but the feral wild strays that devastate wildlife.

.

CatShooter is right-feral cats are the worse.

From quail to ducks they are devastating.

On the ranches I hunt the land owners have one rule when it comes to domestic cats and dogs on their property:

No collar no pass.

Catshooter is right, I work in LE and I used to work in a small town where stray town dogs were a major nuisance attacking sheep on neighbouring farms. It was not un-common to have over 30 sheep left mauled in the paddocks after some attacks. It was frustrating to see someones livelihood destroyed by irresponsible welfare dependant dog owners. The town had no dog catcher and proving ownership of the dogs was often difficult. I found a very effective solution after consulting 'Dirty Harry's problem solving manual'.

When I'm not working I like to hunt feral pigs, goats, foxes and rabbits. There are quite a few fallow deer in my part of the world and hope to bag one this season, once I get my game licence.

Moo.

Yes I do know shooting cats is legal in some areas. But as a trapper I know what the ANTI's can do and have done. A feral cat was caught in a trap in NE now there is no road right away trapping just this past season.

You know the old saying what goes down in Vegas stays in Vegas. But since you guys are on a roll. I would rather shoot a cat than an elephant and I have been all over the world hunting. Nothing gives me shear pleasure than spotting a cat poking it's head out on a woods line 500 yards out.

When I am trapping I come across more cats that you would ever imagine.

I own 15 different calibers and love to shoot and hunt. If its in season I hunt it, but my favorite time is probably when I go PD hunting every year. That is hard to beat.......

What a great Question to ask..... How many hunters ? The last one here was a great shot of the varmints - BUFF,belly up - feet first) I'm in the central states and here we have White Tail Deer, and a lot of other critters, just waiting to be cleaned up and kept under control. Over the past 50 years I have either built or shot nearly every caliber there is under the 50 BMG, and my favorites are my 22-250 - .308 and a nice HV Winchester .223, which gets used on a very regular basis. these stories ar just remarkable, keep bringing the kids into it, that is where the future lies . . the youngn's !!! I am so grateful that one of my stepfathers loved to hunt and fish, and it is ingrained into me till the day I die . .

I tried to up load a picture of the western open country that I hunt in but it just wouldn't do it.

Living in the Olympics less than a mile from the wilderness boundry i hunt mostly deer elk bear cougar coyote bobcat and tons of coons wich are as plentiful hear as rock chucks are on the other side of the state. Ive seen as many as a dozen coons in a tree at one time. Years ago i took to taking the biodegradeabel trash out into a clear cut near my home to draw the coons away from my house. You see the city folk who vacation up here have started to feed them and think of them as cute cuddly pets. They are very aggresive if you dont feed them and i have small children. In the winter months the coons remain behind and start getting into things so the long range food dump was not only a way to get them away from the house but made a nice 200 yard live balistic test range. Shoot 204 rugger 77 ultralight my walking varminter,77 compact in 7-08 for deer elk and bear. ruger mk III competition for grouse, coons, rabbits, crows and target shooting......and oh yes the ocasional ferel cat. They are the number one predator in the country according the discovery channel.

This is why we live in Montana, right?!. FINALLY,,, drawing the Missouri Breaks 'Tag of a Life-Time'. The hunt is over and I am truly a happy hunter.

This poor Elk showed up at a mere 340.0 yards and sacrificed himself. With my VIERSCO.COM 338 snipe-Tac I knew he was dead-meat. However, after the first shot went stray, I still don’t understand that,,,, he then stopped on a ridge 424 yards from me. That is where he met his ‘Waterloo’. I touched off the 338 Snipe-Tac, or as my hunting partner calls it, ‘The Weapon of Mass Destruction’ and the Elk went a few steps and then fell. How he made those few steps was pretty amazing since his shoulder was shattered. He scored 353 points on the Boone and Crockett scale. Not the biggest Elk in Montana but surely enough to put a big smile on my face. The meat cutter came to butcher him and guessed his weight to be 900 PLUS pounds,on the hoof). I brought over 300 pounds of meat home with me that I will be donating to one of the local charities in Kalispell. I truly thank GOD for this wonderful opportunity. I was blessed with nice hunting weather and the ability to see over 35 Bull Elk that day.

Well my 2008 deer season is over for me. I got 9 deer this year in East NC 6 doe and 3 buck. Here are the two big bucks I nailed. The first narrow high racked 9 pointer was taken with my Ruger 77 in 30X47 HBR with a load of 42 grs. IMR 4895 and a 125 Nosler Ballistic Tip at 112 yards. Bang flop.

The second wide high rack 9 pointer was taken with my Rem. custom Shilen barreled 25-06 with 49 grs. IMR 4350 and a 117 Sierra prohunter at 107 yards. Bang flop.

Congratulations!

Nine deer per season... Wow... One a year here in Washington is all that's allowed, and most hunters go home without one. I feel very fortunate to take home a deer most years.

Again, Congrats!

Here in Ohio, opening day took about 5 minutes. 11 pointer if you don't count the stickers or the start of a drop tine. If you do, 15 points. 50 cal. Rem. 700 ML Muzzle loader, 300gr. Hornady XTP .452 pistol bullets w/smokeless powder@ 1800 fps.

In east NC you can kill all the doe deer you want. The tags are unlimited. You can only kill 4 bucks though.
