I held the dummy cartridge in this picture. It’s frigging HUGE!!!! Carroll from Sierra bullets came to Ohio for IHMSA Internationals and visited JD Jones and JD gave him a 950 JDJ cartridge.
Not for the faint of heart, the .950 JDJ utilizes a .95 caliber 2400 grain bullet which travels at a speed of 2100 fps using 240 grains of powder. When fired, this beast generates 25,400 foot-pounds of muzzle energy and 277 foot-pounds of recoil energy, which is equivalent to firing 10 .30-06 rifles at the same time. Each bullet costs $40 to purchase.

The gunsmith (Dennis) at SSK refused to shoot it. I believe there were two heavy guns and one light gun built. I have an end piece from one of the barrels. Not real practical but definitely a win in any argument about whose is bigger.
