How many firings to expect: 6.5 PRC Lapua Brass

That's hot as hell with 156s. You're around 74k psi.
I also agree that that is HOT. That equates to a 2900+ from a 24" barrel.

I consider H1000 and N565 to be basically identical in terms of charge weight and case fill in the 6.5 PRC. I personally run around the 58.3 to 58.6 gr region with H1000 vs N565 and 143 ELDX to achieve 2950 out of a 24" barrel.

With those loads I would worry less about annealing and more about your primer pockets. Not sure your primer pockets are going to go the distance if you are looking for double digit firings.

I absolutely agree with you Mike.

Sound advice.

What I've found on the subject of annealing is do it after every firing or only when you really need to ( 6-7 firings), like when your shoulder bump becomes erratic or neck "tension" changes from one seating to another. JMO

I've had my Lapua 6.5prc (necked up to 7mm to make 7prcw) last at least 13 times and still shot great and I know I'm not alone. Annealed every time and shooting them decently fast but nowhere near max speed or pressure of any kind.
What powder, barrel length, bullet, and speed please ? Long action or short? COAL ? Just trying to see if I could make one one a short action with a mag cartridge length of 2.955”. Powder versus case volume is key for me. Not able to find Norma MRP or H-4831sc locally. And I have very little RL-26 left, which works great for speed, accuracy and case volume fill with no crunch in my 6.5PRC. The 7-6.5PRC in a restricted case limited to 2.955” OAL probably would have the same results. Thanks

N565, 21" barrel, short action, COAL 2.350

I’ve been testing mainly two different powders. The first is RL-26, which works great. The second, N-560 works just as well. Just testing with Hornady 147 ELD Match at 2.955” OAL 2910fps is easily obtainable from a 24” barrel with around 61,000 psi according to QuickLoad. No pressure issues at all. But on the 3rd firing on the brass I’m now getting clicker’s. I’m noticing that my Wilson F/L bushing sizer is only sizing down the case to about the .250” -.260” line and not the .200” datum line. I ordered a Erik Cortina mandrel die that actually sizes the case down to the .200” datum line just like his F/L sizer does. Hopefully this mandrel die being used after the F/L sizer will size the base enough so as to solve my clicker issues. We’ll see by next week

I’ve been playing with the EC mandrel die now for a week. Only sizing 30 pieces of the 100 I’ve fired 3x. Definitely do not try sizing with the mandrel first, at least on 3x fired brass. I used my Wilson F/L bushing die first and then size with the EC mandrel making sure to have a good coating of Imperial Sizing Wax on the bottom portion of the case where it will be sized at. I even ran the brass 3x time’s through the mandrel hoping for the most sizing possible. Shooting the sized brass for the first time did seem to reduce the clickers some. Then after firing and sizing again helped a little more. I’m in the process of sizing again to see if it will improve more. About 1/3rd of the 30 pieces actually have no clicker’s upon firing now. I’m sure this method will decrease clicker’s more. I do believe that if I would have started this method of sizing with the EC mandrel die after the first firing of the virgin brass that I might not have had an issue with clicker’s. I’m going to buy another 100 pieces of Lapua 6.5PRC brsss and test this method
