You're not there yet with your load. A 6BR with light bullets can ALMOST compete with a 6PPC and the same bullets. Seen it a bunch of times. Both fast and slow twists. Varget is not your best option for light bullets, IME. In fact, I've bought several 6BR's because the owner didn't get good results with them using light bullets and Varget powder. I really can't think of a single one that didn't get much better with n135 or h322. Made a few dollars doing exactly that over the years...fwiw.This is about as good as I can get with 67 gr FB (******) custom bullets in my gun . UPS just tossed of some 105 gr Bergers and he did toss them smashed the end of the box . I have some 87 and 90 that I will be loading.
My 8 twist br loved those things! Very underrated bulletA friend has an 8 twist 6 Dasher that shoots one hole with the 90 gr Berger BT. A hidden gem of a bullet. Goodluck and keep us posted.

Dont know how short a range you mean butHello,
Shooting an 26", 8 twist 6BR Norma. It does well with 105 and 108 gn bullets, but would the 68 - say 90gn be too light for my 8 twist? I'm looking for a good short range flat base bullet but don't want to waste money on a box if it won't shoot well.
Thanks for the imput
HelloHal,,, I remember a shooter from back in the day with your name,,, does your last name begin with a T?,,,,, no matter what it's good to hear from you.... RogerExpiper
I have 2 BR rifles built by TJ Jackson.
Both are shooters.

I’ve have used Benchmark with good results with Hornady 80gr in my 28” 1:8Several years ago I had a 6 BRDX 8 twist bbl that shot 68s at 300 yards just really good.
And I’ll agree with Mike on this , Varget isn’t where it’s at. 322,135 8208 Benchmark. Something like that
