How important is 1/8 MOA adjustments for varmint hunting

Would there be much of a disadvantage varmint hunting with 1/4 MOA adjustment over a 1/8 MOA adjustment at Rock chuck size targets at 5 -700 yds ?

We have always used 1/4 for prarie dogs, and have shot out past 1000yds and never felt at a disadvantage. One click at 800yds is 2in so I don't think an 1/8 one click making 1in difference would matter that much on varmints as small as a prarie dog. Anything larger it shouldn't matter at all.

I prefer the 1/4 as it is quicker to adjust POI.
You will not adjust on all shots as it is quicker
to just hold for it if you are close.

We've hunted prairie dogs for many years and have never felt the need for 1/8 MOA adjustments. You should be fine with 1/4 MOA.

Probably not. At 700yds, a 1/4" click is 1-3/4"....it's for you to decide if that's too much. But target scopes that go to 24X or more usually have 1/8" clicks, at least mine do, and I don't see that as any disadvantage. Is is what it is, not worth worrying about.
