How does one obtain consistent results when neck turning

Hi Everyone

Many sincere thanks for all of your replies!

I will study your ideas/experiences in detail, but thank you so much for your kind input.

After multiple attempts, I've simply settled on turning by hand. K&M cutters are difficult to align perfectly and end up cutting with a point, which requires far more rotations for a smooth neck than with a Sinclair. The Sinclair cutters are square to the case neck cut a nice wide swathe making the process to obtain a smooth neck a little faster. With either one I get variation from neck to neck when I turn with a drill, and with the k&m it's even more difficult to get it smoot because something is always warming up and growing into the pointy cutter.
