How do you clean 10/22 mags?

How do you clean the inside of your 10/22 mags?
Best way I've found so far is to soak them in a tub of Windex overnight, blow them dry with compressed air, and then lightly lube them with Moly powder.

Google it .... they are not too hard to disassemble, clean and reassemble.
Been there have/can do that, but cleaning 10 or 15 mags after a weekend of shooting. Disassembling them to clean gets old.

How many rounds do you shoot in a weekend?

Why do you guys want to clean them?

I noticed that mine are really dirty but it doesnt affect anything. After 3000ish rounds and no cleaning she cycles with out a problem at all.

I was thinking the same thing K0na... I've cleaned mine once in the 5 years I've had them, and haven't had any problems. I'm using my 10/22's for paper only, so it wouldn't be a big deal if one would jam up on me. Can't blame a guy for wanting to keep his stuff in top shape though.

Rookie: Maybe an ultrasonic cleaner would work? It would be about the same idea that 'Joe O' posted.

1500- 2000 out of 3 rifles with 3 shooters. If I shoot Eley I can run 3000 - 4000 through each mag before they need cleaning but when we're shooting buckets of cheep wally world sale junk I have to clean after 500 or so rds, mags and rifles.
I clean the mags on all my firearms that have mags every time I clean the gun. Why wouldn't I?

You have to clean after 500 rounds of cheap ammo? What happens if you don't? I'm just wondering.

Don't know! After a bucket of el cheapO ammo the rifles are nasty. So I swab the bore, I don't clean the mags as often, usually after 1500-2000rds. Sometimes I clean a gun after 1 rd. I never put a gun away dirty. I've got 2 teenage sons that I'm shooting with, As long as they would rather go shooting with their ol'man I'm all for it.

I clean mine each time I shoot as it only takes about a minute and then they are always clean.
