How do i use a SIGHTRON 10-50X60 SIGHTRON MOA2 SCOPE RETICLE ?

Guys I only live about 1 1/2 hours from BROWNELLS new WAREHOUSE and know they have a retail store in the front. Very impressive retail store ! lots of guns and Pistols , Rifles , Shotguns. but you can pick them all up off the racks even pistols THAT IS THE GREAT THING. All guns on racks with small cable holding them. but you can really handle them good. Lots different brands and models. store is set up perfect for a customer to look and feel the guns

Anyway they pulled a SIGHTRON 10-50X60 WITH DOT ON CROSS HAIRS out of Warehouse for me. very nice scope but after looking through it cross hairs are just to small for me at age 56 to see threw for both prairie dogs and coyotes and target shooting. You folks were right on that reticle. They are getting the MOA 2 reticle in stock in a few weeks and even one with red dot that I am going to back and look through. I am new to the moa 2a dot reticle really don't understand how it works........ Could some one tell me how the reticle works ???????? the knobs are in inches right.... AND are the dots on scope 2 inches apart , so how do you use the reticle with the MOA knobs?????

In this example let's say I see a prairie dog out 500 yards after I use my range finder to get yardage. What is the next step I would take using this reticle on a SIGHTRON 10-50X60 MOA 2A SCOPE RETICLE TO SHHOT THE PD ? Thanks. Marty

Minutes of angle, not inches.

On my rifle/ bullet combonation I know I need to come up 10 Minutes of angle. So I can either turn the knobe to the number ten or hold on the number 10 stadia line on the target and shoot.

Simplistic answer that will lead to more questions.....

So if you know the moa numbers ( info u can get off a chart of the bullet your shooting ) you can use the dots on the Moa reticle 1st to make adjustments. When you run out if dots on reticle then u start using knobs to move the number of moa you need ? Marty

it is much easier to just dial the dope in the knobs than try and figure out which line to hold,,where the hash marks come in handy is making corrections after you miss a shot,,

if you hit high right you can mentally mark where you hit and dial to that spot or you can do the math on how many clix you need to get on,,

the hash marks are 2MOA at 24 power and 1.5 MOA on 32 power and 4 MOA on 12 power and so on,,

I do sometimes use the reticle for wind holds but always dial my elevation,,say I am shooting on 32X and at 600 yards the wind is full value 10 mph I would dial up to 11 and hold a little past the 2nd hash mark in the wind,,

the scope comes with a chart on how many MOA each hash mark is at each power setting,,

I greatly enjoy the moa-2 reticle, I have a 6-24 ffp version, just so during wood chuck hunting and coyote hunting i dont have to do the math or pay a strict attention to my magnification. but i do like mr big says and dial elevation and hold for windage, althogh i have held over a few times and it has worked great as well.

On another note, my friend had a vortex viper, while both scopes are VERY comparable in glass, the reticle is slightly thinner in the sightron and we both agree that it causes to give the sightron an edge over the vortex in our book.. not to be mistaken the vortex is still a great scope
