I've had my range finder now for around five years. It's nothing fancy, a simple Nikon 550 that works very well. I noticed after getting it that it will range most days out to about 600yds. Our area is such that you may need to be on your hands and knees to go through it or if you get up on a ridge you may be able to shoot 1,000 yards or more.
we were out and on top of a ridge on a good sunny day last year and scoping across to the next ridge my buddy asked me how far that was, i told him my range finder wouldn't go that far but i took a look at a ridge that was closer to us and tried. It worked, that ridge was 776yds, so i ranged the first ridge we were looking at and it was 935yds. Has this happened to you?
