How about those Contender/Encore hunters?

Yep, I couldn't find that one. I hit the "circle of willis" artery that connects the carotid arterys on each side of his neck. He rolled in the water & had massive spouts of blood coming out of the bullet hole. Took a few minutes to bleed out. Lots of locals came after the shot for the meat. Not a bit was wasted. Estimated weight 5000#. Not bad for a little handgun.

When you hunt with a sing shot handgun, it adds a bit of spice to the shunt and the shot. I hunted wil hogs with a handgun on the ground with them over in Salem, FL. A 300 pound hog at 30 feet on a full charge sure gives you some real answers about standing and shooting with a well aimed shot between the eyes for a fact. I was using my 30-30 with 170 Grand Slams in a 10" Merrill single shot. Killed six hogs that day in the palmetto swamps.

Well I looked around and no luck for my biggest whitetail , rifle or handgun. I did find some SD cards that may have pics on them. Computer crashes…….

Temp was about 25 that day in a fairly heavy snow. Hunting in a tree line with standing corn on each side. Had given up and was on a walk back to the truck a half mile off. Jumped buck in the corn, pulled the 15” 308 Encore up standing perfect broad side about 135 yards ( it was right at 145 30” corn rows). Crosshair on the sweet spot and the gun went off.
My IHMSA standing and bullseye paid off that day.

Loved my G2 Contender. Hunted coyote with a 22 K Hornet and .223
10" Match 22LR accounted for lots of critters. I literally had every caliber at one point, buy sell trade one for another. Shot that gun so much the frame finally stretched and become unsafe. But that was 10's of thousands of rounds. Miss my Contender. That 14" K-Hornet was such an amazingly accurate barrel. It was always one of my favorites. Small appetite for powder bullets were cheap at the time. Great Round

Biggest buck I ever took. 357 Herrett. Shamefully, I might have had to lean backwards to extend the distance to ...oh....20 yards ish. ;)
Certainly not a very difficult shot, but I was NOT going to argue with the Creator who sent this sacrifice right to my feet. I do not have any other photos of other deer I shot with this set up, but I have about 23 notched.
