I have Lee dies in 9mm, 45 ACP, and .223 Remington so I'm used to the Lee system, but I'm looking to try a different brand when I start loading 6.5 Creedmoor cartridges. The Lee pistol calibers have four dies while the .223 Remington has three, a full length sizing die, a bullet seating die and factory crimp die. I see the Hornady Match Grade Bushing Die set only has two dies, a full length sizing die and a bullet seating die. Does the ability to control neck tension with the sizing die, by changing bushings, make the factory crimp die unnecessary?
It looks like I'll need at least one bushing, a seating stem for the specific bullet profiles I'll reload and maybe additional Lee lock rings to replace the standard Hornady lock rings which don't work well on my Lee turret press because of the small spacing between the holes in the turret plate. Although, if I'm only using two dies, that doesn't seem like an issue since I can install them opposite instead of next to each other.
