Hornady Power Case Trimmer

Does anyone have experience with this trimmer? It was announced quite a while ago, but I haven't seen any comments from an actual user.

They seem to be in very limited supply. Any reason for this?

mine will be here today, I was going to buy a Giraud but, after 4 phone calls and no return call. edit: I have since learned that he passed away. I looked at the Henderson and don't like the cutter head setup or the need to buy a different cutter head for every case or an extra belt?? I called Hornady and a live person picked up the phone and answered my questions, said call back if i needed any help. In my opinion, they are not that close in design. horizontal case trimmers using collets to hold the case have been around for a long time. just because they are both red doesn't make them the same. I am in the process of making 1000 20 vartargs and will be trimming in the next day or two, I will report on how much I like it or not then.

The Hornady is a lot louder when trimming, sounds like chatter, in comparison to my Henderson.
That's not good, one of the reasons I ordered the Hornady was, I was told it was quieter. I'm curious how many cutter heads do you have for your Henderson or are you just adjusting one head.

I've used a Henderson and found it to be a good machine. I find the length adjustment with the bolt very finicky. I'm hoping the Hornady "click adjuster" will be easier to use and adjust.

Does anyone know why the Hornady's are in such short supply?

Henderson gen3 cutting at 14:05

Hornady cutting at 7:53

do you think it was how much material he was cutting? or it's just a noisier cutting machine? seams like he is barely cutting anything on the Henderson. mine was just delivered, ordered from blue collar on the 12th. I also called them before ordering and they picked up immediately. that's become more important to me now more than ever.

I just cut two cases and I thought it was very quiet. the setup took two minutes. I'm not ready to cut more just yet, but in a couple of days I will be cutting 1000 cases and will see how high speed production goes.

I can do around 500 cases a hour no problem. Took me a little over 4 hours to do 2k 5.56 cases

Perhaps manufactured "outside" the US??? You know...tariffs and all.

Had mine for a couple of months. Finally got around to trying it and hated the cutter blade setup.
Cut 5 cases and then sold it.
Well built and nice "design" (thanks to Henderson)

I really like the Henderson trimmer. You only need 1 cutter for each caliber not each cartridge.
Buying the extra heads saves a lot of time on setup when changing calibers. I like mine a lot too. I added a micrometer stop to it - something Hornady seems to have added. Henderson was going to add that to theirs when I last communicated with them, showing my setup. That was a while back - like a year?

I purchased one cutter per caliber for the Henderson, seriously I friend is returning his Hornady after playing with my Henderson, seeing the cut and and consistency.. he said the Hornady just looked cheeper in comparison.. he didnt even fire up the Hornady. The Henderson isnt too noisy.. it hums along pretty good.. I wear head phone anyway…

Doug Giraud passed away a month or so ago and I am sure the family is trying to hammer out a path forward.
