Hornady OAL tool modified case

I bought a tap and have made a few but I haven't been thrilled with my results. Probably a dumb question but is there a tapered bit to make a jig similar to what Bill Norris posted in #14?
I don't have a lathe or a mill, just a couple of drill presses so I need a way to hold everything straight.

If you use the Frankfort Arsenal tool system you don't need any cases, just a cleaning rod and two spacers that will fit on the cleaning rod and lock.

You set the first spacer where the rod inserted from the muzzle end contacts the bolt face. You set the second spacer where the rod contacts the bullet tip which has been inserted into the lands using a wooden dowel or pencil to hold the bullet in place.

The distance between the spacers plus the thickness of the second spacer is the OAL. If you use the Frankfort tool, it has recesses cut to account for the spacer thickness, so you don't have to adjust for this dimension. On my home-made tool. which consists of two nylon spacers tapped and drilled for nylon screws to lock the spacers in place, you have to account for the thickness of the second spacer.

This system can be used with any caliber and any bullet to measure OAL.

PS: The end of the cleaning rod must be fitted with a jag that has the pointed tip ground flush to prevent a false reading from bullet tip being inserted into the female end of the rod's ferrule.
