Hornady match brass

I see our SA local suppliers are bringing in Hornady match brass. Anybody here have any experience with this brass and if so what are the pros & cons.
I am a fan of Lapua myself but the pricing is getting a bit much. Would appreciate your input.

I have been using Hornady brass for my .308. It's Hornady match brass from factory ammo I shot. I have 2 reloads, plus the original round through the brass. it has worked well. I'm a pretty new reloader, so I can't comment on a lot, but it has worked well for me.

I tried some Hornady range brass, and was surprised that
the primers were crimped?
Only prepped a few though , lazy in my old age.

Hornady is not the worst brass on the market, nor is it the best. It is not near as good as Norma in the 6.5-284, but better than Win. In 204 I found it compairable to the other brass.

I have been able to pick up a good bit from the range I use.Luckly I know that its been fired in a good rifel so resizing was something I didn't worry about. Some have head crimped primers but most had not been crimped. So fare I have loaded the cases 5 other times giving the brass 6 times on being loaded.I too have annealed the necks afterthe 4th firing.I give the brass an 8 on the scale, heck it was free and so fare great to work with.If it holds up like the Lapua I have used then I might start buying it when I need to.

Just hope the guy keeps leaving me the brass then buying brass is out for me.He has all so left me alot of Fed FGMM brass but have yet tried it,but have it when needed. ;D

Hornady match brass IS Nosler Custom brass... Nosler has Hornady manufacture, weight sort, chamfer and de-bur flash holes. It is EXCELLENT brass when used in "less overbore" calibers and or calibers like the .223 that have small primer pockets. The 308 being a prime example of a "non-or-less overbore" caliber. However, use it in something like what I used it in, a 6.5 x 284 and you will loosen the primer pockets in VERY short order. I don't know if the brass is soft or thin in the web / primer pocket area.. However, the .223 has small primer pockets and THICK brass in that area and ergo, you won't have primer pocket issues.. They are dimensionally excellent BUT either soft OR thin in the web / primer pocket area>>>>in either event it is NOT good for very "high pressure" or "overbore" cartridges..

Hornady match brass in 6.5 Creedmoor has stood up to my reloading for long range with good brass life. I have no complaints.
