Hornady interlock high velocity

I recently just purchased a 325 wsm in a model 70. I'm planning to start some reloading here soon, have to shoot off some factory ammo brass is non existing. Seems best two bullets on the market for my deer hunting or just need is the interlock 150gr on barnes ttsx 160gr. I have experience with both and use interlocks allot but never at magnum velocity this high. Was curious if anyone had first hand experience with them over 3200 mv. I know they kill deer great but if I get a deer at 50 or even say 30 yards would they hold up on impact.

As far as brass if you can get 300 wsm brass just run it in the 325 wsm full length die. It worked for me no problems. I don't think you should have any problems with the interlocks. I know 195 grain interlocks work great for moose.

I did think of the 300 wsm sizing up and keeping that on my back pocket incase I need to in the future. Have a few boxes of factory that will give me some brass to start with. I have some of the barnes 160gr ttsx on the way to try, I feel like that may be a good happy medium lighter weight and also solid copper so should do good damage and hold together.

I have shot a big mule deer doe at about 10 yards with a 300 WM shooting 165gr Interlock at about that velocity. Lodged under the far side hide, but left a LOT of bloodshot meat on its way through and shed lead everywhere. Deer was dead as a door nail in the time it took me to walk those 10 yards, but dang....

I looked hard at the 325 WSM for a big bore compliment to my 270 WSM. I personally was going to use the 192gr Shock Hammer looking for 2900+ at the muzzle. At 500 yards that leaves 1900+ fps and 1500+ foot lbs.

I use 150 interlock in my short 308 guns for deer hunting and I have never had any problems killing them at range from about 15’ to around 360y. So far I have never had a deer go more than about 60 yards after being hit with one. Hopefully this will help you make a decision.
