Other options are great. Experimenting is great. But coming on here dropping hints of secrets and better ways with nothing to back them or even explaining what your hinting at will get you exactly the response you have found. I know as well as anyone when you make a claim on the internet guys will try to tear it apart, its normal. The internet is what it is. The real facts and proof of them is in the match results, those are very hard to tear down, and they speak for themselves. When someone shows up to a match with a better way and proves it, similar to what Richard Schatz did with the dasher, we will all be on that band wagon.

I thought this was about ELD M failures?
BTW, It doesn't matter what Rich shoots in the 6mm class of competitive cartridges, in long bench. Fresh bbls, good to great bullets, and a top rate shooter, the rest is luck of the draw, we all know that.

I've had 140 gr Berger hybrids blow up mid air at 3275fps in a newish barrel but they work great at 3175 fps. 8.5 twist.

Had Berger 20 cal 55 gr blow up at 3830 fps on a newish barrel too, no joy backed down to 3600 either. 9 twist.

Had a stellar day with 225 ELDM on one day at ELR hitting nearly twice as much as the other guys. The next day things went to total crap. That barrel is very old though and I hadn't cleaned it in a long time. Might have been a bullet problem going on. I cleaned the barrel when I got back home and the rifle and those bullets shot well again???

On the other hand it supports what the Hornadians want, get it removed, give that fool a hard time he will cave.
We know who he is, he was all over this when it surfaced during matches.

Actually the history of the dasher in 1k br is really a cool story and if you ever meet Richard ask him about it. At the time he brought the first dasher to deep creek the guys were still all on big 30s and the 6.5-284 was just getting popular. So really in 1kBR the dasher came before the 6BR. I think one day I should do an interview with him and get it in print because its one of the coolest stories in LR BR history. Kind of an underdog story of a little case that at the time probably didnt seem likely to do very well.

Be good for filling old shot bags to use on Lead Sleds. Good for dinging steel too.

If a person doesn’t like the flavor of their ice cream cone, what would you have them do with it?

Every thing that has ever been designed and built by a human is a compromise. If that were not so most products would be so expensive that no one could afford anything. If I were designing a perfect rifle, every part would be made of titanium to make it light weight and strong. Not going to happen no one could afford it. When Hornaday made ELD-M match bullets they did the same thing. Not every decision was based on price some may have been concessions for manufacturing processes, or to make the bullet work at lower velocities as well as higher velocities. Some of the decisions the Engineer made when he designed the bullets did not go in your favor, the same decisions may help some other shooters that are not pushing the limits as you are. Stop have a temper tantrum like a 3 year old child, pick another bullet and go shooting. If this is the worst thing that ever happens to you in this life you are one lucky guy.
