Hornady 6.5 147 gr bullets

I haven’t lost a 147 yet in the OEM 26” 8T savage barrel. But I just got a 7.5tw Bartlein 28” on and think the risk of losing them is perhaps higher.

That said, if the primary factor is friction, the new barrel is MUCH smoother inside than the OEM barrel was so maybe it’s OK?

That said, I’m switching back to the 140s. They seem always to shoot more accurately and the true BC seems to true up significantly better than advertised. They seem closer to something heavier—144 Berger maybe?
 
I dropped the 147 two years ago because of their problems. My buddy still has a few thousand to shoot, he is willing to accept the problem. He started having problems at the end of his barrel life. Got a new barrel and it had problems right off. These were factory barrels.
