Has anyone tried to run a 147 eld in a 6.5 grendel AR platform? If you have, can you share some data?

I know the grendel and the 147 are not made for eachother, but im willing to try anything at least a few times.

I see VV has data for the grendel and heavies. but i dont see any other data sources over 140gr pills.

Thanks in advance.

Your probably not going to get much powder in the case as far as the bullet will be seated into the case to get magazine length

Thank you. I realize the shortcomings of these two components being used together. I am looking for data or a data source, if anyone has tried this combo themselves.

You checked the 6.5 grendel forum? There are a few posts over there, but mostly out of bolt guns. One shooter was using ~27gr H4895 with 147s in a bolt rifle. That's over the Nosler max for 130s, so start way lower if you're using an AR.

Hornady cases. CCI 450. 147 grain ELDM. Started at 24.5 grains IMR8208 2038fps. Worked up to 26.5 grain IMR8208 2229 fps. All loaded to magazine length. At 26.5 grains I was at a slow powder trickle with a drop tube. Crush fit with that bullet.

My heavy bullet load is a Berger 135 Classic Hunter. Lapua case. CCI 450. H4895. Loaded magazine length, 2.255" COL. Lilja barrel.
