Hollow base bullets

Im loading my 45acp using berry hollow base bullets, should I use the same grains of accurate #5 that I use when I load my 185 grain jacketed bullets I use 8.2 to 9.7 grains called for in my lee loading book. Just unsure

You will be okay, but in the future, try to stick to exact recipes until you have more experience.

You should try to find load info before you buy a significant number of bullets. That keeps a rookie loader from being tempted to color outside the lines where there is no data.

Another excellent source of load data can come from the manufacturer. If you send Berry's a request, they can often help you with load advice for their bullets.

Start at the low end of published for your bullet weight and style for the specific seating depth. With the extra volume under the bullet, your pressure will tend to be lower than an similar bullet with the flat base.

That said, you must not have looked at the Hodgdon web site because they have your exact bullet shown with Accurate #5.
