Hogue Overmolded rifle stock vs. Savage Accustock

A Savage I’m interested in ( 110 TRAIL HUNTER LITE ) doesn’t come with an Accustock. Instead it has a Hogue Overmolded stock. I grew fond of the Accustock as all my Savages with it have been tackdrivers, so I’m hesitant to buy one again without it. Anybody know if the Hogue comes with an equivalent bedded action feature?

I have had 3 different rifles, two factory, with the Hogue and have no complaints. I view them likely a Ford Festiva. Low tech but I know of several with a quarter million miles on then still running every day. It is a quiet stock in the woods, I like that.

I like mine that came on a Howa, it does have pillar’s installed. I think some of the cheaper ones that went on some bargain Remington’s didn’t have pillars, so I would make sure if the Savage stocks have pillars installed first.

Put one on my brother's 90's vintage 110 a couple years ago. Fit and shot well afterward, I was impressed and he likes it.

They both are ZERO !!!!
I disagree with that on function in the case of the accustock(I've never had a hogue). Lite weight, waterproof, economical, and great on target performance.

If you are looking for a TOOL, it certainly does its job.

The Hogue stock is super grippy. Bordering on sticky. Don’t ask me what that means.
This is a very accurate description. They look fine and are comfortable enough to shoot but I hate how they stick to everything. They constantly want to grab and pull at clothing and I just don't like being hindered by anything when trying to shoot. The major thing I don't like about them though is trying to inlet the barrel channel for proper float. Most of the ones I have messed with, the barrels are slightly off center in the channel and are touching or very close to it on one side. That rubber material is a pain to work with.

This is true. I have one, like the stock itself, I just don't look at the end of the barrel channel because it's off center and pisses me off every time I notice it. As for the Accustock, I have one on a .223 Model 10 that shoots great. I don't know how much the stock helps but the little rifle is a shooter.
