Hogdon 4350 or Varget ?

You guys get powder cheap! We make the stuff here and pay double what you are! A 4kg (8lb) tub of H4350 or 2209 as its called here cost me $410AUD the other day. Work that out with the exchange rate! Sorry to say your powder wont be getting much cheaper, especially if our currencies even out a little.

Yeah its pretty darn average. A few years ago we complained when it was 300AUD. Maybe we should have kept our mouths shut! Saying that, we cant get any Vit powders and Alliant powders are pretty thin too.

I have a friend in Australia that told me the same thing on price for powder. It sure doesn't make any sense with it being made there!.
Isn't it the French company Thales that makes it for Hodgdon?

I just bought 3 lbs of RL15, 2 lbs of H4350, 1000 CCI BR primers Small, a brick of 500 .22 LR and 100 feet of water proof cannon fuse for 198.00 at our local store. The guy is a cash only small town reloading shop that always has the powder I need. Theres a place in Tulsa Ok I think its Jims reloading or something and they always have the popular powders in stock....Last time I went the lady GAVE me a 333 brick of .22 for free lol....I am guessing we are very lucky to have this gentleman around here.

I may not have gotten the deal of the century but man it beats driving all day and spending hours on the internet and I can get a visual on the SAME LOT for powder

Very Respectfully

Changeling,
Read your post and the following comments. I have friends who shoot the Dashers in competition and favor the Varget. BUT I'm reminded that in making decisions like you are faced with, I've found that leaving it up to your rifle helps break the tie. Also cuts the BS. Just my .02 worth. Good luck either way.

Its a Thales Australia Limited company called Australian Munitions. ADI sporting powders are the domestic brand here. Powders are made in Australia and on sold to USA. It seems Hodgdon do all the international distrubution, bar possibly New Zealand.
