hodgdon powder price increase?

Yes I was in Bass Pro today and couldn't believe the price they are charging for a pound of powder.
I Will NOT shop B.P. They are crazy high on everything. You have to be rich to shop in there. I just want to pay for the product I buy, Not all the mounts, hunting and fishing shows, fish tanks, etc... They are pricing themselves out of business. It's sad because I used to drive from Chattanooga to Nashville just to buy from them. Now they are in Chattanooga and I'll bypass them and not even look their way. Haven't been to Nashville except to watch football or hockey now.

Hmmm, I guess the $208/8# wasn't as bad as I thought - relatively speaking. I was thinking/hoping around the $185 mark for my two jugs. Didn't happen, even with a small amount of polite squalling.

Hey let's be honest, the election made gun and component sales cost more for everyone in short term. We are all waiting for the big drop in price due to blasé inventory

When they are trying to get 1099.00 for 5000 of Wolf Match Target and lot of other places are over 6, made me want to stop going there! But mostly it seems to me that they have turned into a clothing store instead of an outdoors store! And several of the employees are wondering if the prices at BP are going to come down to the level at Cabela's or visa versa!

I think since bass pro bought out cabelas I'm not sure they will come down any.

Me either.. but i wonder if the emplyees are being told to regurgitate that..
I'll stay with Sportsmans Warehouse. They have decent prices and don't gouge like the other places. Just wish they would get in more reloading gear. Gander Mtn. Filed for bankruptcy the other day. They were as high or higher Than B.P.

Savagedasher I remember working for $3.25 an hour in 1965 but the powder was only $1.95 a pound!
The 8 lb H-4350 was $85 back in the 90's all day and I was making $30.00 an hour!

Kind Sir, I Don't think I was bragging, and don't remember saying at what price I sold the 20lbs. All of my locals seem to think my prices are right in line and usually cheaper than the other shops here locally. Seems that you did a lot of assuming. If I were your local I would still treat you with respect and that is how I intend to treat you on this forum. God Bless!

Joe didn't you work for $10.00 per hour back then .
I paid $ 32.50 for 50 # My $80.00 a week job I could get 2 shopping carts full of groceries for $25.00 .
My new house cost $9000.00 Still live in the house and have some powder left .

Dont blame Trump yet. This post (above) has it right. Obama increased debt 2x and just printed more to cover.

Monet becomes worth less, worth less and now it is just about worthless... get out the wheelbarrow to haul it(money) to Walmart to buy a loaf of bread. Speaking of bread, in the 50s (late) one could buy a nice loaf for around a quarter--now loaf of other than the white musshy kind is 3 bucks or more.

Milk is in a real nose dive. We have bought for $1.35/gal and as low as 98 cents in the last 5 weeks!!! Friend told me some local Amish farmers were asked to allow milk truck to dump excess on their lands..

One other thing that,s not mentioned just about zero pull down small arms rifle powder around.
Most haven't pulled down much for quite a while.

Actually, "Monet" increases in value. One of his paintings recently sold at auction for $80,451,178:D:eek:

So you feel he should pass it on for cost or what?

No just not brag about about it.what part of my reply didn't u understand?
I've mentioned on these forums in the past, that translation of people's writing can get misinterpreted. Nowhere do I read bragging. He simply stated that his cost from the distributor was up. He never said that he jacked his prices to gouge customers.
