Hobo oil- my take on it after all this time

Still like Motorkote better. Cut the lawn 4 times so far after treating it and draining all the oil out of it. Try that with Hobo oil.

i dont normally push products- just give my opinion- but i gotta say i like hobo oil more every time i use it. Ive been using it since the first bottle rolled off the assembly line. I have found no ill effects on anything (no crazy gunk or rust where it wasnt before) so thats already ahead of some of the other products out there. You could use plain old oil on your bolt body but i assure you there wont be any oil that makes your bolt slide like its on air. Ive even found it slicks up the gravel blasted adl type bolts remington puts out (thats saying alot). I love to support members of this forum first, but in this case there isnt any other equal out there on the market. Do a search on here for all the other members that feel the same way. If you havent tried it yet, do yourself a favor and get a bottle. If you have tried it do your buddy a favor and grab him a bottle as a gift.

I too have used Hobo oil and agree with Mr Stevens. I use it on my rifle bolts/actions and pistols. Ordered three bottles and gave two away to friends. Great stuff.

i put it on my cereal every morning
Yea well i dont drink it WITH my coffee- it IS my coffee!

You know im a believer in it when i get it in the family size. Looks like i went to sams and got this with my 5 gallon 2 pack of ketchup and 5500 strike anywhere matches

Another firm believer here. I use it on my bolts like everyone else but found it to be excellent to patch down the bore when I've finished cleaning a barrel.
I've changed my cleaning using it.
To start out 2 patches of top engine cleaner then 2 dry. 2 patches of CLR, a patch of brake cleaner then 2 dry. I then finish with a patch of Hobo oil and done.
First shot after cleaning is in the exact spot as before as long as the conditions are the same.
Maybe it's from a good barrel but since using the Hobo oil it's the same every time.
This is the same with my wifes gun and my grandsons as well.
I've never had any barrels do this before so I'm a believer.
I forgot to add I bronze brush in between wet and dry patches.
Not trying to be a fly in the ointment here, but have you bore scoped your barrels to verify that they are indeed clean? How many rounds down the tube between cleaning? What cartridges? If so, I need to try your cleaning regimen. Please, let us know.
Thanks,

Lloyd

I have not borescoped the barrel so I honestly can't say that it is totally clean only what my patches are telling me.
I do use boretech eliminator after 1 sometimes 2 matches and am getting no signs of copper.
The barrel is a Ledderer chambered in 30 BR.
I had been cleaning after every relay but in the last couple matches I've gone to every 2-3 relays so could go as many as 30 rounds.

How does it react to your skin ? You guys have me thinking I may be able to use it for other purposes.

Better get the MSDS before you do that assuming one exists for this stuff. It should if it’s being sold to the public.
