High-Power Scope for 22LR

So, let's put a little twist on this post. IYHOpinions, what brands of scopes are shooting the competitions? And is there anyone that dominates? I do not compete, and I'm thinking this will be just a range gun. However, if I switch up and decided to bring it into play in the rat patch, I have shot myself in the foot with a fixed power.
Personally, I did not care for the 36X Sightron I had on an Anschutz 1710HB for a while. Almost all my shooting is behind the house at 25 to 50 yards. I don't compete. I never could get used to all that magnification. I don't have the best bench or rests. I don't have much skill anyhow. I have several Weaver V-24 scopes and like them a lot. I also have a Sightron STAC 4-20x50 that's pretty nice and more modern, but not necessarily pretty to my eye on a walnut and steel sporter.

I put a first year model 4.5-30x52 Bushnell XRS on the grandsons
CZ457. Love them Elites. In the woods after tree rats, he likes the
lower setting and got most on 4.5 power. Young eyes......On a 50
yard target punching paper, he'll sit on 20 power all day long......

I recently pulled the scope off my ELR gun ( Vortex Gen 3 ,,,6-36 ) because it has 120min of internal adjustment and has 40moa rings on it. I want to play ELR with my Winchester 52c and see how it goes out to 500yds......I am sure it is going to start out to be a frustrating day...LOL

Regards
Rick

You want at least a 24X for 50 yards. Most all shooters perfer a 36 or 40X for competition at 50.
A good bang for the buck is the Athlon Areos 10-40X 56mm objective. It is a 30 mm tube. Price is 300 to 350.
Another is a Mueller 40x for 300
Another is a Vector optics 10-40X 56mm 30mm. I got a fathers day special for 179.

Shouldn’t be. That’s pretty doable. Shoot mine with my .22 with my Gen III Razor on it to 500+. Just watch that wind.
