High Master TR F Class

Question. If you get a classification in Fopen and switch to FTR will you get another classification after enough matches?

Well today was a good day. I got my High Master Card in the mail today for Mid Range F Class. I shot TR with a 308 and off a Harris Bipod using a simple sand sock for the rear. It was not easy but it shows it can be done.. I hope you all had a great day as well.. Reaching goals keeps us moving forward.

What avg score do you need to achieve high master?

Anyone have any clue as to how many FTR High Masters exist?

I don't believe mid range is too rare; long range is another story.
I say that on the assumption the FTR HMs I shoot with earned it shooting FTR, which is my next goal.
Many of these same mid range HM are Master, or less at long range.

First, Congrats Dirty Steve!

Second, I have a question regarding the Classification rules

I shot my first rifle match, a Mid Range F TR (300/500/600), in December. Since then I’ve shot 2 more. Here are the scores.

DEC - 582
JAN - 588
FEB - 592

I got my Master card the first week of February. If I’m reading the rules right, to move up from Master to High Master, It will require the February score plus the score from the next match to be 1,177 or greater (98% of 1,200)

Is that right?

Or does it require 98% of 2,400, as I have read elsewhere?

If you guys want a challenge, give Smallbore Prone a try. There’s no HM classification, but making Master takes shooting 99.5% average over 700 shots.

You should get your HM card but may take another month I got my sharpshooters card early February for LR and my last two scores at a 1000 was a 593&591 so I should be getting my HM card next month or early April I’m thinking.

I believe the it is 240 shots for record for your initial classification and 120 for being bumped up. Not positive but I think that is how it goes.

I concor:

NRA High Power Rifle Rules

19.17 Reclassification—A competitor who has been classified by the NRA

will be reclassified as follows:

(b) A competitor will be considered for reclassification upward when his

most recently reported scores, for not less than 240 shots (120 shots

for Prone Classification), fired subsequent to the tournament date at

which he earned his current classification, have been recorded prescribed,

except that such consideration will not include tournament

or league scores until after all scores for the tournament or league

competition concerned have been recorded. If his average score so

justifies, he will be reclassified upward accordingly.

Well like I said, I think/thought. I knew 240 and 120 were in there. I was just wrong on on the technicalities.
