YEA SCORE ONLY CUT THE LINE YOU SCORE DOWN A POINTWhats the format? Score only? Thanks
Why???I like the new rule changes and I don't think there should be any practicing at the range the week before.
I've been involved with this for a little while. It is harder every year to get sponsors. Bullseye sent out over 450 e-mails and made almost 100 phone calls this year alone. It's tough to do. The match as it is has turned away from a groundhog match and turned into a prone BR match. I have no problem with someone feilding a $7000 rifle. Letting your 4 buddies shoot it first to give you all the input gives a huge advantage over the lone wolf. Maybe, once word gets around, we will have even more shooters bringing their factory guns and at least trying. Not trying to argue with you at all, just giving you a lot of the input we have had down the years. 30 minutes is plenty of time to confirm dope and a line had to be drawn somewhere to make it fair. Why???
I live a pretty good ways away (never get up through the week either) but some guys that don't have a place or opportunity to ever shoot much at that distance, it is a big perk to them. And I think aweful kind of Larry to offer/allow. It's open to anyone, that's fair as it gets.
As far as one entry, for individual and or gun once. Yeah, that will be a lot more fair across the board; but... It will also decrease the match tremendously. I always shot in custom and factory. Most times a buddies gun as well. Some guys shoot 4, even 5 rifles. Single entry will cut profits near half. This past year there where something like 257 entries this past year. Cutting out multiple guns will bring enties closer to 100. If you where a sponser, had you rather donate to a 250 entry match or a 100 entry match. If you where receiving profits, which works better???
Larry said next year would be preparation for the 40th annual (2 years away). And if you have attended several years, you know milestone anniversaries bring out weird/funny changes/rules. I would expect most rules to return -as usual- after that.

Yes,So you guys shoot the same target and just move it back for each yardage or you shoot different targets at each yardage?
Any pics and info on the factory winner?
Scroll up Alex. I posted !st and 2cd place pics earlier with targets.Any pics and info on the factory winner?
It was, however, I can likely post pics of 1st place factory target tomorrow if interest.I assumed those were custom class 1st and 2nd???
1- 30 minutes (maximum) of range time per person before the match (sign in-sign out through the week before)
2- Gun can only shoot once in the match, person can only shoot once in the match (no two people can sit on the same gun - see rule 4)
3-First 8 relay are drawn for shooting order
4-(only exception is for rule 2) Youth 13 & under may use any gun (shot in match or not)
5-Match fee $35; youth (13 & under) $15
6-Ranges will be around 100,300,500 yards (maybe not in that particular order)
As Larry has it now, one gun period.
Good deal all the way around as far as I'm concerned. Yes, it will (probably) lower the total number of guns to the line, yes, it will eliminate the "gaming", as in 4 or 5 shooters a relay apart doping one certain rifle, and yes, the new rules will pizz some people off. So be it. Hopefully, word will get around about this great match, and as Rebel said, we'll have more guys showing up with their "real" groundhog rifles to shoot the match. Thanks,
That’ll make it so much more fair. I’d like to see though maybe allow custom and a factory rifle only but that be it. But either way I’m good with going back to the jest Of what the groundhog shoot was about.
