Hey my friends help me save some time on a GD 503

bozo699

Gold $$ Contributor
I want to buy a GD 503 scale, where do I want to purchase if from, I could spend three hours researching it but would rather cheat and just have someone with first hand experience just tell me where to go. I would like the best deal possible of course but more important then that I WANT ONE NOW!!! Thanks for your help.
Wayne.

P.S,....
I have a almost new MXX 123 scale, I would not sell it to a friend but I would give it to someone I really don't like or worse hate! I am not sure if anyone on this forum fits that bill but if you do p.m me, if your one of my many friends don't waste my time as I would never treat a good friend like that by giving him/her a 123 as after a week or so and especially just before a match I would no longer recognise them because they would have no hair left on there head!!! Thanks for looking!

well it would appear your name must be correct...
i have had an mx123 for years..no issues works fine....
so it is user or what ?? did you try warrantee....i guess if you have decided to move on, we should just let it go.
may i ask, if you cannot use an mx123, why do you think a gd503 will work for you ??
have fun with your new scale

Mike,
You and FGUFFY will be on the top of my list to receive the 123,...No one on this forum, let me reiterate,...NO ONE likes you! No one on bench rest central likes you, no one on any forum to my knowledge likes you! No one knows how to operate a 123 because they drift badly and they need re- zeroed between each way if you want them to be accurate! There Junk like most all of your posts are ;)

Wayne,

I got mine from:

Gary Shane, Account Executive
sales@balances.com
Phone: 978-521-7095

He preconfigured it for grains. Good2Go right out of the box.

ps - You'll not regret the purchase. Not one little bit.

-nosualc,
Thank you for the info,..now when you say preconfigured for grains do you mean instead of calibrating it in grams it's done in grains or what, I am not sure what that means.

When I talked to him, I told him my intended purpose was for hand loading (he gets a lot of us), and he said that he would set it up so the default was grains instead of grams. I presume a guy could do this himself, but he does it all the time. A small service, but nice.

-nosualc,
Thank you,..just got off the phone with him,..$1429 and there in stock, but I couldn't order over the phone I have to go to there web site,..thank you very much.

Wayne,
You got the right guy to buy it off of.....
I'll assume that most of us that have them, have bought them from Gary..
You will be as pleased as can be with it.....
I leave mine on all the time and it has never, ever varied from 700.70 whenever I place that particular bullet on it..
Please don't send me the other one 'O)

What about Longfeather, Maybe you could help him get his Triple Deuce into all the record books.......

Probably because the two scales use entirely different technology and are completely different? Sort of like asking why you would think a Chrome web browser would work for you when IE6 does not (hint: one sucks while the other doesn't -- or at least, sucks less. I leave it to you to decide which is which). It's reasonable to expect a different outcome between the two.

Wayne I will take it and shoot it with my best friends 35wsm I shot yesterday with 4700 foot pounds of energy it will repair it.

While I'm in a good mood,
why don't you order it from Bruno.

And Mike in Co's brother is worse.
Uthink Uknow,
I will attempt to get a hold of Brunos, I ordered 6br brass and something else 2.5 months ago that was in stock at the time, it hasn't showed up yet!!! the second part of your post I would tend to agree with.

Jay,
I of course really value your opinions also and I talked to you a year ago about these scales and should have got one then, I could have been wrong but thought you told me they could be had for around $1000 was that correct or was that what they cost a year ago and now there worth $1500?

Don't hold anything back Wayne, tell him how you really feel ;D. LOL!

Anyhow, go to www.scalesgalore.com
They have them in stock and will ship within 24hrs with free UPS ground shipping. Although the free shipping is probably due to a little higher price than sites other members have listed. But it definitely looks like you can have it "right now"

Wayne, I like you so I won't tell you how much I paid for my GD-503 when they were on sale. ;)
But I will tell you something for sure, after I bought it, I would have paid twice as much, that scale is awesome!

Good luck with your purchase.

Erik,
After last weekend I would have payed double with a smile on my face, I spent all day and night trying to load 350 rounds for a 1000 yard match for my son and I,...didn't get it all done and needed to get the 6.5 hour drive to the match underway so I had enough for practice on friday or enough for Sat match but not both and none for Sun so decided we really wanted to do some testing on Fri so we paced up and left for the match with all equipment for reloading, and spent all night Fri night and Sat night loading enough ammo for the matches in the motel room,...IF!!!....the scale would have stayed zeroed and would not have drifted and I hadn't had to weigh each load sometimes multiple times I could have slept some and possibly done better at the match,...NEVER again!!! I had a parker tuned balance with me but was too stupid to throw the acculab in the motel dumpster,...I will own the 503 and be done with it all, thanks for the reply ;)
Wayne.

If you don't already have one, get an Omega trickler as well.

I throw .1 gr under with a Chargemaster 1500 and then dump into the GD-503 and trickle up while the Chargemaster is throwing the next charge. In reality, it's no slower than if I was loading with the Chargemaster because when it's done throwing the next charge, I'm ready for it.
