help with value - FN SPR prototypes with letter

Looking for help with the value of these rifles. They have Winchester action and FN barrels.

They were made in 308 and 300wsm.

Any help? Winchester collectors keep telling me its not old enough or its not really a typical Winchester.

They should be worth more than most would like to believe especially as fitted up. I would hang on to what you have. As prototypes with documentation they are more desirable. The new manufacture classic was never cheap.

For those that don't believe, try making a copy.

If the rifle is in mint condition, with certificate, I could see it fetching quite a bit more. The current FNH SPRs with McMillans are starting at $2,000 on gunbroker. I would put it on GB and see what you could get for it, with the starting bid around $1,700.

FN spr a5 old style. A couple of details about these that the general public would not know and might be picked up. They tried several barrel contours and mine is a solo. They were a3, a4, and A5 versions with most being a3 and a4. Most of the rifles were bought up by the development staff. The letter is the big deal and the serial numbers. The original signatures.

Comes back to value..... When they stop making a gun that people want the value is double to triple. What is the factor for a prototype with documentation?

My guess is to add $1000 over current market value for similar rifles.

The main issue is collectors would need to know about them and non collectors would look at them and wonder what it would take to build one for themselves.

They are cool.

Put it up on gunbroker. It’s only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
