Help with the 30 BR

Just got it and getting ready to prep brass, the dies I received are 30BR remington, the brass of course is the 6BR norma, I have expanded the necks and preparing to turn but when I get ready to resize am I going to run into a problem with these dies? Are there more questions I need to be asking? Help an old guy out that just wants to shoot and learn!
Thanks in advance!

You should have no problems with the dies.
Thanks, I new to the 30BR and just trying to get a handle on all this, I read the whole article that is posted here about it and a very interesting read. I hope to get a good load in a couple of weeks when I return from work and then add a tuner. Looked at Harrells tuner and it looks like like you don't have to have a threaded barrel for his, looks like a clamp on, is this correct?
Thanks for the PM and help from all.

I think I'm going to wait and shoot the gun before I do anything! I used someone elses bullets, brass, primers and scope and we put it on paper and were shooting 3 shot 2 hole groups so will be anxious to see what it does with its own stuff! LOL

I strongly recommend getting a Harrells die to everyone shooting a 30br. I think they are $75 or $80 bucks last time I looked (its been a while, so they may be more). The Harrells FL bump die is THE die all the 30br shooters I know use. Send them a few multi fired cases from your chamber (along with a check), and in a week or two, you have a semi-custom die in the mail.

You’re going to have a great time. Even horrible 30BR’s still shoot better than most rifles at a public range on any given day. And when you find the load for yours, man it’s great! Ask all the questions you can think of and just have fun.

That is what I love about this site, no bs (okay maybe a little) but everyone is willing to help! thanks,

Thanks, I'll do that when I return home and get the gun going!
You need to answer a few questions about your rifle before you can ask questions about your dies. What is neck diameter of your chamber? What are dimensions of your chamber? And what the heck is a 30 BR Remington designation? Who manufactured your dies? Other than breaking in your barrel with some free components why are you using someone else's brass bullets and scope? Putting bullets down your bore should always be a way of obtaining information about what your rig is capable of doing with your own scope, scope mounts, reloading technique, etc., etc., etc.,.!!

Lapua says you never need to annealing their brass, what say ye? I'm thinking because we are working it so much that it should be

Your off to a good start, are you intending to shoot competitive or for fun?

The 30 BR Remington is what Redding calls it.

A lot of great shooters in your home state. Most are now shooting UBR in that area, if you haven’t already looked into the dates for upcoming matches, do that and get to some. Those guys are all great and helpful and will help as much as possible. One of them may even be close enough and have the time to help one on one at the range.
