Help With New Rear Bag

Doc as long as it recoils straight back you got it. It may take a little more tweaking, but you need to shoot it a few times before you can decide on that.
As for cordura I'm not a big fan they either get too soft or they pack to tight, I still like the leather better, a little baby powder and you are good to go.

Yeah, as soon as I get done today, I plan on testing

Looks like youre on the right track. I like the ears to be loose but when you beat the stock down into the bag they tighten up. If you get vertical put more sand in it until it gets off those stitches. Some folks like em on the stitches but itll wreck a group in short range where you can see it. Also put play sand in there if you have heavy sand. Heavy sand in ears is no good for me.

yeah when i ordered the bag, i asked for play sand in the ears.. didn't know till i started fooling with them.. that they had heavy sand in them.. when i was on the phone with them yesterday, i asked if they put heavy sand in the ears.. he said yes.. unless it is requested that play sand be put in them.. and i do remember asking for play sand to be put in them..

If you get one of those 21st century bag fillers it makes it simple to add or subtract sand really easy

Doc - don’t go by the width of the stock at the butt. Go by the width of the bottom of the toe. The bag widths are measured between the ears at the stitches.
Your 1.2” measurement is adjusted with the amount of sand in the ears.
@Paul Beel has a stock just like yours that we put together for him last year. He’d be your best source.

the bottom is .445 inches (or thereabouts).. so you would go with a 10mm (If we can find it) or a 14mm spacing

10mm would be too tight.
Those Dima bags look nice. You could also look at the Protektor Flat top Dr. Bag. We get them to turn the bag around so the handle is facing the rest instead of the shooter.

I have sampled my share of bags. Give me a holler. I will send some that I am not using for you to try out before you drop the big bucks. All it will cost you is the shipping. I know I have a couple of Edgewood’s 3/8 and 1/2 and a protector that is 1/2 (may be 5/8).
