Help With New Rear Bag

I have a new to me stock, but my rear bag is not the right one. Help me find the correct one!
The width is 1.2, the bottom is .445ADED4FEF-FD06-4168-920A-DB668D452362.jpeg

Tell us more about the rifle and why you think that the bag is not correct for it. I understand that long range benchrest shooters want the bottom of their butts riding on the stitches between the ears. From the picture I can see that yours is. I guess the only other question is how laterally stable the stock is. To evaluate that, I grab the stock from the back about half way up and lightly try to move it from side to side. If it is solid by this test, I am good to go. Have you experimented with how much sand is in the ears?

The angle of the picture makes it look like it is sitting on the bottom.. but it isn't.. the spacing on this back is 3/8ths.. the bottom of the stock is parallel with the forearm of the stock and is .445 inches wide.. but the main width of the stock is 1.2 inches wide.. this rifle is a smallbore F-Class rifle.. or (IE a BR rifle).. the stock is a DiOrio Aluminum stock

As for the test.. i can "jam" it down in there and it don't move side to side.. but i am getting a lot of "elevation" issues with this stock and the bag.. if i try to free recoil, it shoots all over the place.. but if i put my thumb on it and try to be consistent.. i can get a group.. of course.. the optimum is being "consistent"..

How is your rifle balanced? Could it be nose heavy? Is there anything on the stock that prevents it sliding freely in the front and rear bags. More pictures please.

i will get some more pics in the morning.. it actually shot will with the Sightron SV scope on it.. but the scope that is on it now is a pound lighter.. it moves freely, with some consistent drag on the material..

Anodized Aluminium Alloy :)
Something you can work aluminum, delrin, Teflon.
1/4" should give you enough to taper from stock to bag.

Shoe leather glued (weak glue that can be removed) to bag to raise the floor?

USMCDOC, I am by no means an expert, but going by what I have been going through the last few months (basically the same problem), the ears on your bag look as if they are too full. Remove a little sand at a time so the stock can ride the base of the ears.
Before I did this both rests were moving, and I had to readjust after every shot.

Yeah I did that yesterday, still had issues, I am afraid that if I remove enough to get the bottom of the stock to the top of the bag, there won’t be enough to support the butt of the stock

I think you’re on the right track by softening the ears a bit. That cordura can be some hard stuff. Perhaps with age it will get better. Of course by then you may be pulling your hair out.
