I like your design and I noticed you are still using a bag. Could you explain to me why a bag is needed and not just metal on metal?

Also, having a hard plate bouncing off a hard rest under recoil tends to do some unpleasant things to your groups.

The bag forms to the sled and helps keep it on track. Keeps it from sliding too fast as well. But now you got me thinking..... The old 'bag and sled' is a pretty dated method of shooting. There may be a better way...
