help with choate tactical stock for savage 110

I bought a choate tactical stock for a savage 110 staggerfeed long action. When trying to set the action in the magazine well bottoms out in the stock before the action sits completely down in the v-block. I checked the part number on the box and it shows the stock is for staggerfeed. Any ideas or advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
anthony

The Choate stocks do their best to be current, Savage has MANY variables (god only knows why) and sometimes the stocks need massaging to fit. Hate to say it as I don't dislike Savage, but it is the nature of the beast. Do you have the time and tools to inlet it? Its not hard, just go slow unless you have a mill. With a mill its a snap.

I don't have a mill, but have the time, and don't mind inletting, just didn't want go tear into a new stock if it was a defective stock.

Shoot Choate a email and explain what you have. They are really good folks, they swapped one out for me this just week.

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to call tomorrow and see what they say. Looks like it might be easier to take a 1/4" or so off the bottom of the magazine. I was planning on getting a benchrest follower anyways. But I will see what they say first.

If your going to use a benchrest follower and not mag feed, just pop the magazine off. Its just held with a little tenon in the bottom of the action.

I had the same problem with my center feed long action in the choate tactical. Mine was just barely too long. Instead of modifying the stock I sanded the bottom of the mag to make it fit. It was not hard at all and works well if you do not need to take much off. This did not affect feeding at all. Maybe worth a try for you. Make sure and use a sanding block to keep everything square.
