Help with 6mm choice

Don nothing wrong with the 6 rem. my buddy is going to spin a fast twist one on his savage action so he can shoot with me, he loves how accurate my 6XC is and low recoil easy to shoot. he wont bite on the 6XC so he is doing a 6 rem. I think he already has dies. he used to have a VLS in one some years back. But 6 rem cases are hard to find. I had a 257 rob a few years ago and could not find cases so I looked for 6 rem's and could not find them. still cant .
where a .243 case can be made from anything on a 308 case. plus many more 243 cases out there.

ackleyman the 30 is the new 40..no just kidden..I think it's easyer to form to 30 deg over 40. the 30 deg is well proven, ppc,BR,6XC all 30 deg .. to me the 30 is enough. I have had a 25/06AI 40deg, 6 dasher 40 deg. I'm just not a big 40 deg guy. I have a buddy who has a few 243.6mm, 223 all AI 40's he loves them. so it's a personal thing.

This is just my opinion and not worth a whole lot. Its not as hard as most folks think to hit that 3100 to 3200fps in the cases that are talked about on this thread with the 105class bullets in a 6mm. The Big BUT in this whole ointment is the accuracy portion. Attached is a picture of a 105Berger Hybrid out of a 30" barrel chambered in 6mmSLR using Reloader 25. Unfortunatly it did not shoot all that well like the H1000 load did at just under 3100fps with the same bullet, case and primer. R25 shot well just not great like H1000 or even my H4831SC load.
The 30* 40* or even the plain ole 243 will get there with an adequate barrel length. Add in the 6CM and good ole 6mm Rem and you end up with a lot of great options that are going to meat your needs. I have always liked the 6mmRemington case. Just have never owned that one. Its a big task to pick with all the good choices.
Im with RCW on the 1:7 twist option on the 6mm bullets. I just think its a tad to fast for what your going to need. There is a reason you are not getting answers back on that specific twist rate and a bunch on the 7.5twist and 8 twist. Ill be looking forward to your results however.
Are we all spoiled with so many options?
Good Luck

Thanks Russ for your input on the 1-7 twist. I feel i'm going to be fine. But going to order a 7.5 twist also .
I hope to find out how well the 105 Hunting VLD works this weekend. Two more days of work and im off hunting for a week. calling for rain. nothing worse than I guy who does not see well but has good optics to offset that but in the cold rain they wont be worth S*h*T. it just stinks..but we will be out there.
My buddy will say hey see those deer over there,,ah ..no ..where are they?..lol

I'd probably just go with the .243 Ackley just to use the same brass and bullets I have lying around, seating die, etc. It will do what you want, I would think, and at less cost than that associated with a bullet diameter change, etc.
