Help with 30BR loads for 155gr bullet

Hi Guys,

I have been shooting my XP100 30BR with cast 165gr bullets for years H4198 (using ADI 2207) but wish to try some 155gr copper jackets that i can source cheaply. I am interested in a load using the following powders I have on hand if possible; H4198, H4227 ( and Benchmark.

I found an article on this site where an Australasian bench rest shooter is using from 32.5 to 35.0 grains of IMR 4198 ( ADI 2207) but I am not sure what the difference is from going from a long barrel to an XP 14"barrel.

Currently using 25.5 gr ADI 2207 (IMR4198) with my RCBS 165 gr cast.

Having not shot jacketed bullets in years can't recall whether it is safe to simply change from cast to jacketed with same load / powder. all data on most sites is for lighter bullets around the 120gr mark.

Thanks in advance,
Peter

The Sierra 5th edition reloading manual has data for the weight class bullets you are interested in. It is in the rifle section
