Help, what shooting rest do you use.

When I first saw it advertised by Bullets.com last week my first (and only) question was: Is the rear leg threaded to take the Sinclair speed screw? Don't know about anyone else, but that's very important for me. I use mine on my Sinclair Gen 2 all the time for fine adjustments.

Maybe someone who has one can answer that question for others who are considering buying one, but also want to use the speed screw.

Bald Eagle threads are 1/2x 13 TPI. Sinclair's are 3/8" x 16 TPI, so a non-fit.

I haven't researched it, but there may be a thread insert that is used to repair worn/stripped threads that you could use to convert the threads to 3/8" 16 TPI. I have not shot off the Bald Eagle yet, but my wife is using the rear screw that comes with it for her "fine" vertical adjustments.

The SEB NEO is undoubtedly a great rest. Unfortunately, I can't afford one. Being retired and on SS doesn't allow for much extravagance. I'm sure there are many other good shooters in my boat. For us, we will have to make do with a Bald Eagle. Also, I did briefly try a joystick rest. I just did not feel comfortable shooting with it. Different strokes for different folks. A dear old friend of mine once told me "It's no sin to be poor and have to work". I would rephrase that now by saying it's no sin to be retired and poor. When shooting is no longer fun, I'll just fall back to my passions of hunting and trapping.

All the Cast iron Bald Eagle rests have 1/2" x 13 T.P.I. threads and screws. The Aluminum ones all have the standard 3/8" threads.

If you don't like the SEB, you don't like it. I'm with you, but on the opposite side. I can't shoot a windage rest anymore. At least not in score. The joystick is now totally subconscious. I watch the flags and everything else just happens.

Where I was going with my post was as long as the wait time is, you could save your spare change and pay for it. And make a profit, if you don't like it. As much for others coming along as your specific case.

I'm a working man putting two kids through college. I'm not exactly rolling in piles of money, either. .

I'm sure that if I worked at it, I would come to like the joystick rest for changing conditions. Still not sure that I would spring for the SEB NEO. At my age and level of shooting ability, I just have trouble thinking I need to make the investment. I may very well change my mind :-\ somewhere down the road. Good Shooting to you. LG.
