HELP! Sako L461 action.

I just bought an incomplete gun. It is a Sako L461,I assume it is the Vixen) action with a barrel that has NO markings on it, and it is without a stock. Without any markings, it leads me to believe that it has been re-barreled. My question is, how do I found out the caliber? I think the Vixen is a .222, but I also have read that it is possible to re-barrel it to a .223. I admit I do not know much about the Sako, so any help would be appreciated.

Also, the action is #'d 152727 and the bullet chamber says AI1. Can anyone use these #'s to give me an approximate year or manufacture?

To find the calibre just measure the barrel dia at the muzzle, to find the chambering it may be best to do a chamber cast, if it has been rebarreled it could be any sort of wildcat with a .223 boltface.

If there are no barrel markings, yes, it would have been re-barreled. Chamber cast is probably your best option. One reason, when I do a re-barrel, it is always engraved with barrel & chamber info: barrel maker, cartridge, rate-of-twist, & neck dia.
